HowTo: View DOC, PPT, XLS, PDF Files in Sony Ericsson

This is more of a workaround than a how to.

1. Install Opera Mini 4 (Visit http://operamini.com)
2. Start Opera Mini and visit http://mobile.google.com
3. Go into Google Docs (The direct link [skipping step 2] is http://docs.google.com)
4. Login with your Google Login and Password
5. If the document you want to view is in Gmail then you can simply go to http://m.gmail.com and click on the attachment link to view the file. If it is in your phone’s memory card, then follow the next step
6. Go into Google Docs from Opera Mini, select upload after logging in. Show the location of the file on your memory card. (The phone will ask if you want Opera Mini to read or Write to memory and a lot of other permissions, simply say “Yes”)
7. After the upload finishes, the document will be available for viewing at the list of documents at Google Docs.

I’m still looking for a Java application for this. But for the time being, this seems to be the only option.
